DHR2 Rheometer

Discovery Hybrid Rheometer 2 (DHR-2) is an advanced rotational rheometer with a combined motor and transducer (CMT) design. It has a patented drag-cup motor, the second generation of magnetic bearing, a force-rebalance transducer (FRT) for normal force control, and a true position sensor (TPS) combined in a single-head hybrid rheometer. It is a powerful tool for characterizing the flow properties of liquids and the mechanical properties of soft solids such as gels. Available measurements Steady flow Viscosity Newtonian/non-Newtonian behavior Dilatant/pseudoplastic behavior Oscillatory measurements Storage and Loss moduli, loss factor (tan delta) Thermomechanical spectrum Linear viscoelasticity region (LVR) Rubbery plateau modulus Reptation time Gelation point, crossover modulus, frequency, temperature Small and large amplitude oscillatory shear (SAOS, LAOS) Creep (constant stress deformation) Stress relaxation Temperature tests Combined tests
